What Is Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment?
Recovering from drug and alcohol abuse starts with a heartfelt desire to regain your life. It finds success with experienced treatment and committed support. Our outpatient substance abuse program is based on the needs of the client. The time attended weekly and length of treatment is based on the individual progress of the client. We are certified through the Department of Mental Health.
What Is The Goal of Outpatient Treatment?
Like inpatient treatment, the goal of every outpatient program is to:
- Facilitate the cessation of use of all addictive substances
- Support ongoing sobriety
- Promote growth and healing on an emotional and spiritual level
- Encourage repair in important relationships and the building of healthy new bonds
- Empower the client to remain drug- and alcohol-free for the long-term
How Are These Goals Accomplished?
We use an Evidence-Based Curriculum approved by the Alabama Department of Mental Health to provide psychoeducation alongside group and individual counseling. A recent study conducted by Texas Christian University identified two strong predictors for substance abuse treatment success. At Family Life Center, we focus on these predictors to provide the strongest possible strategy for success.
Did You Know?
According to Texas Christian University, there are two strong predictors for substance abuse treatment success:
- The counselor’s connection with the client.
- A strong educational component for the program.
What Does Your Outpatient Program Look Like?
The first step is meeting with an assessor to complete an assessment. We use the DMH Placement Assessment. This takes into account the severity of addiction and type of addiction. An individual treatment plan is derived from this assessment to give the client personalized care. Clients are continuously assessed during treatment to determine if progress is being made or adjustments to the treatment plan are necessary.
What Does The Assessment Entail?
The assessor will ask questions about your drug use, medical history, mental health issues, medications, legal problems, family problems, employment, living situation, and previous treatment experiences. Be honest so that the staff may assess you appropriately. This will help create an effective plan that meets your needs and greatly increases your chance of success within our program. If you choose to enter one of our programs, you will meet with a staff member to develop a treatment plan. This personalized treatment plan will include your goals for treatment.
What Is The Cost Of The Program? Do You Accept Insurance?
Our services are based on a sliding scale and our facilities accept many insurance policies. To learn more about our options or to determine if your insurance pays for Substance Abuse Treatment, contact the Family Life Center office nearest you to determine benefit eligibility.
