Starting August 1st, Family Life Center is reopening our anger management classes. These 8-hour Saturday courses utilize the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Anger Management curriculum. If you’re thinking of attending one of these sessions, here’s what to expect.
Anyone Can Attend an Anger Management Course
Attending one of Family Life Center’s classes might seem intimidating, but it’s important to remember the reason you are attending. This course will teach you valuable life skills that could help you gain better control over your emotions so anger doesn’t cause problems in your life.
Anyone who wants to get a better handle on their anger can attend an anger management class. Sometimes a class may be court-ordered or used as a form of treatment. Regardless of your reason for being there, you are welcome.
The Purpose of this Course
Our Anger Management Course curriculum is a truncated version of SAMHSA’s curriculum. If this is your first time looking into an anger management course, you may wonder what that curriculum entails. The purpose of this course can be narrowed down to these main points:

- To stop violence or the threat of violence.
- To develop self-cont over thoughts and actions.
